Exquisite Festival of Trees will get your Christmas heart racing!

It looks a lot like Christmas at Isaiah Tubbs at West Lake for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s annual Festival of Trees.

Trees-buttontreeMore than 100 beautifully decorated Christmas trees and related seasonal decorations are being presented for the three-day giant silent auction to raise funds for cardiac monitors at Picton hospital.

The beautiful County Festival of Trees unfolds at Isaiah Tubbs Resort Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event includes a silent auction of trees decorated and donated by County businesses, organizations, groups and citizens. Volunteer entertainers are providing the sounds of the season all weekend and there are bucket draws and a Christmas Boutique created by the Second Time Around Shop volunteers.

Bring the children as Jeanette Arsenault will welcome Santa to the MacDonald Hall Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. Visits with the Jolly Old Elf will continue to 4 p.m. and again Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pockets the Clown has also been invited.

Saturday is Double Discount Lunch day at Isaiah Tubbs – 40 per cent off your bill – and, there are plenty of snacks at the bake sale, Friday from 2-9 p.m. and Saturday until sold out.

“We’re hoping for lots of donations to our festival bake sale. Last year the bake sale raised just over $3,000 and we would like to do as well (or even better) this year,” says Dorothy Vincent Speirs, communications rep for the auxiliary.

Products are to be “sale-ready” – labelled and with an ingredients statement if possible (e.g. declaration of nut content), in a size appropriate for individual sale, and wrapped and decorated with a ribbon or Christmas stickers.

The auxiliary will accept donations of “sale ready” goods Friday, Nov. 22 from 8a.m. to 11a.m. at Picton – St. Mary Magdalene Parish Hall, 335 Main St.,; Wellington – Wellington on the Lake Community Centre, Empire Boulevard; and West Lake’s Isaiah Tubbs Resort – MacDonald Hall, downstairs.

The auxiliary supports and assists Quinte Health Care Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, its patients and staff, and the local community in meeting healthcare needs through service and fundraising.

Note: Reservations for the Isaiah Tubbs Christmas Day Grand Buffet are being taken now. Call 613 393 2090 to reserve a table.
