Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation staff members were all smiles as restaurant managers from the Picton and Wellington Tim Hortons restaurant locations presented $4,549 raised from the 2017 Smile Cookie week promotion held in September 11-17.
This donation will be directed toward priority medical equipment purchases at the County hospital.
“This year’s campaign was a tremendous success yet again and it wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of so many loyal guests,” said Paul Massey, owner of both Hortons locations.
This year’s Smile Cookie campaign raised $1,000 more than in 2016 and puts the local Tim Hortons restaurants’ cumulative giving total to $23,914. With $1,086 to go until they reach the $25K Benefactor level on the hospital’s donor wall, Picton manager Trudy Rosseau assures they can meet and exceed that goal for 2018 and thanks all the guests and enthusiastic staff for putting this year’s Smile Cookie totals over the top.
“We are all smiles to receive this donation from Tim Hortons,” said Briar Boyce, the Foundation’s communications co-ordinator. “The commitment the Massey family and Tim Hortons staff has made to our County Hospital is a sweet treat we will savour in the years to come.”
