Grades 4 and 5 students at Sonrise Christian Academy were happy to reveal their finished barn quilt in front of relatives and classmates after months of hard work and preparation.
The idea for a barn quilt stemmed from their studies earlier in the year focused on communities and how symbols can reflect culture. The students set out to reflect on their own school community and symbols to represent Sonrise.
They received help every step of the way from Pat Dubyk and Trish Hornsby, members of the PEC Barn Quilt Trail group.
The finished product is now on display on their school building at 58 Johnson St., for everyone to see.
