Steve Campbell right on the money with water story

I want to say how well written your comments were concerning the water issues living on this island. (@Home magazine – Story called ‘Water, water everywhere, or maybe not’ – by Steve Campbell on page 93.)

You were “right on” concerning every point. We are new to this island as of last September and have had water problems since we arrived (lack of water). The amount of water tested was good before we purchased and quickly changed within three weeks after moving in to the point of having no water. Oh well! We put a trickle system in and have had no problem since.
Anyway, I think you should write about the wind turbines. I know that they have been written about a lot lately but listen to the following.
I do believe they are going to happen, when? but they are. Will they be a drawing card for future residents or could we lose money on our property ? I believe every tax payer in the county should get a rebate at the end of the year – like 10% of the total hydro paid. Business or a home owner. This could be a way of drawing people to the island to live, not just to come and see the ugly wind turbines?
Just an idea.

Prince Edward County needs to contribute to the production of electricity not merely take from the rest of Ontario. What made us so special that we shouldn’t have to see where our energy is coming from? Would you prefer a nuclear power plant in the County or a coal-powered plant? Humans are creating this appetite for more and more energy so we have to ‘pay’ for it.
