Students get jiggy with Celebration of Dance

Hundreds of students filled the fairgrounds Wednesday morning for the 22nd Annual Celebration of Dance. Among the 12 dances in the line-up, students performed Cha Cha, Hamster Dance, All Star, Dynamite, Shake Senora and Footloose. Teachers had students focus on the elements of dance, body, space, time, energy and relationships. The first Celebration of Dance took place in spring 1991 as a fun and safe way to engage students in daily physical activity while supporting the physical education, drama and dance curriculum.
