Lucas Clarke, grandson of the late John Boos, a lifetime member of Kiwanis, told the Picton service club he enjoyed attending Arden II Key Leader Camp and thanked them for sending him.

“I made a lot of new friends I still talk to now,” said Clarke. “My leadership skills are a lot better and I would suggest the camp to any kids who want to get leadership skills.”

Attending the camp last fall with Clarke were Codie Goodman and Audrey Rolson.

“It was an amazing experience,” Goodman told Kiwanis at their recent meeting. She stressed the focus of service leadership and learning that rather than always being the lead role, the importance of being in a strong support role.

Rolson was unable to attend the Kiwanis meeting.

Pleased with the success stories, the Kiwanis is sending these three students plus three new students to the camp in 2014, said Rod Holloway, youth chairman. Interested students should contact a club member.

“The Picton club wants our community to be aware of the opportunities that we offer to children and youth in the area including: The Terrific Kids program, the BUG (Bringing Up Grades) program, the Key Leader Camp and many other opportunities.”
