County Road 3 to reopen early tonight following emergency closure

The partial road closure of County Road 3 between Rednersville and Rossmore is expected to be lifted by early evening tonight. The emergency road closure was necessitated by a washed out culvert, caused by high rainfall experienced in the north part of the County on August 14.
Staff commenced replacing the culvert and stabilizing the road Monday morning.
There will still be cleanup issues and additional ditch/culvert reinforcement work required, but this is outside the travelled road and will be carried out over the next few weeks.

About 20 customers are affected on Rednersville Road where Hydro crews are fixing an equipment failure.  A tree struck a home on Cty Rd. 28, causing power outages in northern Prince Edward County. Hydro is on the scene securing lines and clearing debris.

Crews have also been dispatched to Long Point. Fewer than 20 customers are affected. Hydro One estimates power should be restored by 12:45 p.m. today.
Environment Canada calls for thunder showers this afternoon and evening, with a chance of more thunder showers overnight.
