Sun always shines on old-fashioned Milford Fair

The Milford Fair, re-established after the Second World War, is a real expression of ‘rural roots’, notes Charlie Vincent, a member of its board.
“There’s nothing fancy about it. We work hard at keeping it old-fashioned, while adding a few new things every year.”
The fair theme this year is a salute to the history of the fair as a foundation for its future.
Murray Clapp Memorial Citizenship Awards were presented to honour community involvement and volunteer work by citizens. They were presented by Glendon Walker, Joyce Minaker and Leona Head. Above, Glendon Walker with recipients Diane Walker, Brenda Bond, Alex Ingram, Gary Wilson, Sam Lanfranco, and Joyce Minaker, Leona Head and Valencia Logan.
In place of its annual Baby Show, Valencia Logan handed out medallions to five of the community’s babies – Sebastian, Isabel, Olivia, Elliott and Liam. “It follows with our theme to recognize our past volunteers and to look to the future,” said Logan.
Waiting for the parade to begin.
