TASTEchef2TASTE community grown unfolds as a weekend long event incorporating regional history, film, music, art – and the finest tastes in food and beverages.

Friday’s Movie in the Mess event has sold out. Just 150 guests will explore the Second World War sergeant’s mess hall, enjoy a dinner, kick up their heels to a live era band and finish off the evening relaxing under the stars with a movie presented by the Kingston Canadian Film Festival.

Saturday’s signature event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the historic Crystal Palace in Picton.

Guests will meet chefs, winemakers, beer and cider masters, artisanal food producers and farmers and indulge in the fine food and drink the region has to offer. Take in a guest speaker, enjoy a seminar and don’t miss County Chopped Live, where reigning champion Matt DeMille has just 30 minutes to defend his title from two of the regions best chefs in front of celebrity judges and a member of the local culinary community.

Saturday’s programming also features a Celebrity Pie Auction,  a regional Farm & Artisan Market and educational children’s programming.

Saturday night will see the first Back 40 Bash concert licensed event headlined by Juno Award nominees High Valley; and with Autumn Hill and Lindsay Broughton. On the grounds of the Crystal Palace beginning at 7 p.m. with gourmet food trucks on hand to keep you fueled up!

Sunday there will be hundreds of cyclists on 25, 50 or 100 km rides through the pastoral back roads in the annual Cribbage Ride.
