Three firefighters with more than 50 years service in PEC retire

More than 150 years of combined service were honoured as three long-serving Prince Edward County firefighters from the same station officially retired.

Roger Flower, Bill Bedford and Leonard Bedford were honoured at the Rossmore Fire Station by Chief Chad Brown, Deputy Chief Tim Kraemer, and firefighters, who presented commemorative plaques with glass-enclosed axes.

Division commander Roger Flower and Captain Bill Bedford served 53 years while firefighter Leonard Bedford served 51 years.

With Bill Bedford and Roger Flower are firefighters J. Morton, M. Jeffrey, C. Quinn and M. Renaud.

With Leonard Bedford are firefighter J. Pennings, R. Doyle and Division Commander J. Prinzen.
