Great Balls of Fire! Waupoos Winery was the green, green grass of home hosting Jerry Lee Lewis and Tom Jones on the weekend.
Joe Passion (Jerry Lee Lewis) and Dave LaFame (Tom Jones) thrilled their audiences Friday and Saturday with tribute performances. LaFame, of course, sang “She’s a Lady”, “Green Green Grass of Home” and “What’s New Pussycat”. Lewis hits include “Chantilly Lace”, “Whole Lotta Shakin Goin’ On”, and “Great Balls of Fire”.
The audience was thrilled to see Passion do “the wild Jerry Lee – the over-the-top, unpredictable, arrogant, and yet vulnerable boogie-woogie man from Tennessee.
LaFame was the recipient of the 2012 Las Vegas Celebrity Impersonators Convention Award – first place male entertainer and third place overall.
The King returns to Waupoos July 31-Aug. 1 for the fourth annual Elvis Festival. A fish fry and performance is set for the Friday night and Saturday will feature two performances – at lunch and dinner times.
