Trio found safe by PEC OPP canine Zoey

Missing persons were found in good health with no injuries Tuesday, by Prince Edward County canine OPP Zoey.

On August 27 at approximately 11:20 a.m., officers from the Prince Edward County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) as well as the OPP Canine Unit responded to a report of three adults missing in the woods in the area of County Road 7 in Prince Edward County.

The three were visiting friends and decided to explore a wooded area of the property. The homeowner called police after becoming concerned for their safety when they failed to return.

Canine Zoey, with handler Constable Scott Gannon, with the assistance of the OPP emergency response team, searched the wooded area and found the trio approximately two and half kilometers away from their starting point.

They were found in good health with no injuries and were returned to the home.
