Prince Edward OPP were called Tuesday afternoon to investigate a complaint of grave tampering.
Their investigation determined that two people, a 51-year-old male and a 50-year-old female would be charged with Indignity to a Dead Body (cremation ashes).
PEC OPP Const. Connor Durkin OPP reported a physical altercation had occurred between the two. As a result of that investigation, he said the male was also charged with assault.
Both were held for a Show Cause Hearing scheduled for 1 p.m. June 7th, at the Provincial Court of Justice, 15 Bridge Street West, Belleville. Their names will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
