For both Janice Deal, a Registered Nurse at the Picton Hospital and Bill Brown, a Plumber at CFB Trenton, the road to their black belts has been a long one.  Both have been members since the formation of Picton Martial Arts in the winter of 2005 and have spent the last 5 ½ years working diligently as many as 4 and 5 days a week.

Both have demonstrated a capacity for hard work and gruelling workouts to prove that they have what it takes to earn a black belt under their instructors.  Both have also been key figures helping junior students and aiding in the growth and prosperity of the dojo.

Black-belt examinations for the Yudansha Kobujitsu Karate Federation – an International martial arts organization are held twice annually in Toronto, in front of a grading panel of senior instructors and current black belts to ensure that high standards are being maintained.
