Two vehicles were reported stolen Tuesday – one with keys inside, the other while it was being unloaded.
Officers of the Ontario Provincial Police Prince Edward detachment believe the reports are unrelated.
At 8am, a black 1996 Dodge Pick Up truck with a personalized Ontario licence plate of GINCO attached, was reported stolen sometime overnight from the Consecon area. The vehicle also had business logos on both doors with the name “GINCO Bobcat Services”. The ignition keys were inside of the vehicle.
At 5:15pm, a second complaint was received of a theft that had just occurred. The vehicle was reported stolen from a residence on York Street in Picton. A grey 2002 Toyota Highlander SUV had the Ontario licence plate of CBAJ 481 attached. The ignition keys were taken from inside the owner’s residence as she was preoccupied with carrying in items from the vehicle.
Anyone with information on these thefts is asked to call the Ontario Provincial Police Communications Centre at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
