Unexpected renovations at Shire Hall – main entrance now open

The main entrance to Shire Hall reopened to the public Monday morning. The entrance was temporarily closed Thursday and Friday as a result of unexpected water damage that occurred overnight June 6.
To ensure service to the public is not disrupted, some services will be provided from alternative locations within Shire Hall, and some employees have been temporarily relocated within Shire Hall as the restoration is completed.
While the full extent of the damage and restoration is still being assessed, the County’s insurance carrier will be involved in funding the restoration.
“On behalf of everyone at Shire Hall, I want to express my gratitude to our customers for their flexibility and understanding as we make the necessary arrangements to restore affected areas,” says Robert McAuley, acting CAO at the time the damage occurred. “On behalf of the management team, I want to publicly acknowledge the tireless efforts of our staff to restore functional working conditions as well as continue providing quality customer service despite challenging circumstances.”
While complete restoration may take up to 12 weeks, all services regularly offered at Shire Hall remain available and accessible to the public.
