Vital to attend health care meeting Tuesday

Are you concerned about losing 1/3 of our remaining 24 beds at Picton Hospital?  If so, there is a meeting about Rural and Norther Health Care coming to Picton.
Tuesday, February 15 from 1 – 3:30 p.m.
Prince Edward Community Hall, Picton Arena
It is sponsored by the Government of Ontario with MPP Rich Johnson organizing it. Please help us alert everyone to attend this very important meeting.

The discussions will be set up around tables in the hall.  There will be specific questions asked by the government about rural health care, but we hope you will also bring your questions and concerns.
As you know, Quinte Health Care is considering moving 8 of Picton’s 24 beds to Belleville.  This may not be a topic the government will bring up but Friends of Picton Hospital wish to do so and we hope you will bring your questions and concerns to the table to be discussed also.
The newspaper ad suggests you register by calling 1-800-503-8654 or at www.ontario.ca/ruralnorthernhealth by Friday, February 11, but we understand it is still just as good to come even if you don’t register ahead of the meeting.  If there is only a small turn-out, the government can say Prince Edward doesn’t care.   As they are only giving a short notice and it is being held during the day, it is obvious the government is trying to control the outcome.

Let’s show them we do care and we will be there.  It is absolutely vital that we have a good turn-out!  Please contact anyone you can to attend, even if you can’t yourself.  Please share and forward to everyone you know.
Robert Williams, board member, Prince Edward Federation of Agriculture.
