Water main repairs on East Mary

Emergency repairs as a result of a water main break are under way on East Mary Street this morning.
Emergency repairs began at approximately 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22. East Mary Street will be closed at the intersection of York Street. Signage will be posted at Bridge Street and at the entrance to East Mary Street, indicating road closure.
Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area if possible. Local traffic will be permitted.
Repairs are not expected to impact water quality, however residents living in the area may experience a partial or complete loss of pressure or coloured water while construction is taking place.
To address pressure loss and the potential of coloured water, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once maintenance is complete and regular water service is restored.
