Wellington Elks support hospital equipment fund among donations

The Wellington Elks Lodge 566 celebrated support for the community while hosting the 57th Ontario Elks Provincial Conference recently.
Six of 10 Ontario lodges were represented
with 22 voting delegates. Endorsement of a host lodge donation of $500 was matched by the Wellington Lodge to forward to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital equipment fund.
“We had a fun live auction with Bro. Greg O’Hara with sale proceeds of $1,340 toward our operating account,” noted Randy Vincent, of Wellington. “Everyone enjoyed the camaraderie of meeting in person, reacquainting old friendships and making new connections.”
During the meeting, it was learned the Elks
Walk-A-Thon to raise money for its national charity “The Fund for Children” saw 12 delegates participating and raising $1,745. The presentation of cheques to the Fund for Children totalled $4,015.50.
The Ontario Elks Association made a donation of $2,500 to the Ontario Charity of choice “The Voice” organization in support of a summer camp weekend in September. Presentation of cheques to the Ontario Charity Fund totalled $2,318.50.
