Wellington resident Hailey MacDonald will be back on stage this weekend, competing for the Miss Canada Galaxy title in Toronto.
Competing as Miss Galaxy Wellington, MacDonald is no stranger to the pageant world having competed nationally and internationally in pageants as a teen.
In 2018 she brought home fourth place from the Miss Teen Canada Globe pageant in Toronto and followed up representing Canada in the Miss Teen Petite Beauty International Pageant in the Dominican Republic.
Winners of the Canada Galaxy pageants will represent Canada at the Galaxy International Pageant in the summer 2022. The program is open to girls and young women aged six and older, of all shapes and sizes, the website notes, with a focus on finding “intelligent, ambitious, personable and progressive women who make a difference in their communities through volunteerism and service.”
Hailey is the daughter of Lisa and Rick MacDonald. She plans to study Fleming College’s mental health and addition programs this fall. Passionate about helping people in need, a cause in particular she supports is the Royal LePage Women ad Children’s Foundation which provides safety and shelter to those escaping violence.
Her interests also include modelling, acting and writing.
