Order of Canada recipient and eight-time Ladies Professional Golf Association winner Sandra Post helped the women of the Picton club improve their game, and in turn, the golfers helped improve the lives of young girls who attend the Reaching for Rainbows program.
Member Liz Jones reports County girl Casey Ward, Director of Instruction at the Credit Valley Golf and Country Club, also provided instruction at the clinic on Monday.
“Jane Wollenberg, Chair of the Board of Reaching for Rainbows was pleased to be presented with a cheque in the amount of $1,800 from the golfers that day.”
Reaching for Rainbows opened in 2010 at St. Andrews Church in Picton to serve young girls and families with a play-based, after-school program focusing on building positive relationships, making healthy choices and fostering a strong sense of self and belonging to help create resiliency.
This event was facilitated by Women, Worth & Wellness and its founder Nancy Griffin. Sponsors Tracey Dickson of Royal Heritage Realty, Joanne Coker, for BMO Nesbit Burns and Laura from a new Picton business The Golf Studio were on hand to facilitate door prizes.
