The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital was thrilled to be the recipient of two gifts from the residents of Wellington on the Lake. The WOTL Woodcrafters held their 17th annual chicken barbecue in May and served 184 people while raising $425 for the telemetry unit upgrade at Picton hospital. The WOTL Tennis Club held a pancake breakfast in June 7 that served 120 people and raised $260 for priority medical equipment needs.
Handing over and receiving the funds, on Friday, were: Hazel Lloyst, interim director of development with the PECMH Foundation, Wilf Durham, treasurer of the WOTL Woodcrafters and Peggy Payne, director on the PECMH Foundation Board and PECMH Auxiliary President with Bill Boultbee, president of the WOTL Tennis Club, Leo Finnegan, president of the PECMH Foundation and Bryan West, president of the WOTL Woodcrafters.
“Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference in the care that you and your family value and deserve,” said Finnegan. “We very much appreciate all support. We are especially grateful to the residents of Wellington on the Lake for helping us acquire equipment for our hospital. Briar Boyce photo
