Local memoir class writers shared their stories publicly with the launch of their book ‘Writing From Life: Memoirs, Essays and Poems’.
The stories came from a memoir writing class started by Marilyn Kendall, who then stepped down and became one of the group called Writers Unblocked.
The anthology features a wide cross-section of people who discovered immense satisfaction through sharing their stories with one another. They shared some of them publicly through readings at their book launch last Sunday.
Contributors include Deborah Arnold, Jeanne Atkinson, Carolyn Barnes, Nona Bussell, Veronica Cluett, Joanne Courneya-Fralick, Ann Elson, Sheila Gribble, Marilyn Kendall, Anne Preston, Nora-Lyn Veevers, Anne Wait, Ann Wardrop and Helen Williams. Those attending the launch read an excerpt of one of their contributions to an appreciative audience at Books & Company.
