Shirt off, fish on at annual derby

January’s final weekend was cold enough to welcome more then 40 ice anglers to Merland Park’s third annual Ice Fishing Derby. Merland Park owner Kevin Lavers reports that with a wind chill temperature of -2 the ice on the bay remained at nine inches thick for the weekend.
