The 4-H Small Animal Pet Club presented donations of $462 each to the Loyalist Humane Society and Black Jack’s Rabbit Rescue.
Members, leaders and several parents learned about the compassionate work of these cat and domestic rabbit shelters and adoption agencies in the course of their six-week pet care project.
Participants raised the funds by collecting small change over the six weeks and holding a bake sale as part of the recent Club Achievement Day at the County Farm Centre in Picton.
At the presentation, front row, are: Juliana, Gail and Joan, Loyalist Humane Society, Samantha, Sherrie, Jennifer and Paul with rabbit Smudge, from Black Jack’s Rabbit Rescue (back row): Jane, Michaela, Brenda, Maggie, Sarah, Jasmine. Children and youth ages 6 to 21 years interested in learning more about 4-H may contact Jane Thompson at janethompson1838@gmail.com or go to www.pec4-H.ca
