93 cyclists brave cold wind for Kiwanis Cribbage Ride

There were 93 cyclists participating in the ninth annual Kiwanis Colour Cribbage Ride Saturday, Oct 1 had 93  despite cold wind.
“There were more riders registered and even though it is a “rain or shine event” some riders understandably chose to opt out,” notes Kiwanian Wayne Vansoelen. “There was a feeling of accomplishment by the people who finished either the 100 or 50 km rides.”
The original format of the ride, suggested by Rick Willing and kt Misner, of the Bloomfield Bicycle Company, continues to be popular.  here are marshals and refreshment stops along the ride. On completion of the ride, cribbage hands are dealt to each rider and prizes go to those with the highest hands.
Riders are served lunch and receive a swag bag of local county produce.
“Based on feedback from the riders, the event was a success and they plan to be back next year which will be Sept. 29,” Vansoelen said.
