Ameliasburgh welcomes families for winter fun

Family fun trumped frigid weather Sunday at the Ameliasburgh Winter Carnival.
Families gathered at the town hall and grounds to enjoy snow fun, skating, hockey and horse-drawn carriage rides. Inside the town hall, the hosting Ameliasburgh Town Hall Working Group and the Recreation Committee served free hot dogs, hot chocolate with marshmallows and freshly iced cupcakes.
Children’s games included a rousing no-hands eating of doughnuts on strings, checkers, a relay game and ‘snowball’ toss. Library volunteers helped children create puffy winter paintings with a shaving cream, glue and sparkles mixture.
The library also sponsored an afternoon of “photo booth” photographs by Prince Edward County photographer Kelly Taylor. Her commercial works includes photographing architecture and interior design concepts, creative head shots, lifestyle portraiture and wedding photography.
