Beautiful Aurora Borealis
Administrator | Dec 25, 2014 | Comments 3
This small Northern Lights display, known as Aurora Borealis, was photographed near Picton by Malcolm Park. He noted it didn’t last long as clouds moved in during the peak of activity. Solar flares over the past week have prompted magnetic storm watches indicating ‘Coronal Mass Ejections’ emanating from the sun toward Earth. CME is a fast moving cloud of charged particles which can cause a Northern Lights display. See more of Malcolm’s photographs at www.photopark.ca
