Belleville bridge to be closed overnight Nov. 13

REMINDER: The second of two 12-hour full closures of the Norris Whitney Bridge at Belleville is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 7pm – 7am Nov 14. Back-up date is Nov 14 – 15, same times. In case of extreme emergency, the contractor has a small footbridge available to transport patients from one side to the other.
OCT 23 – The Norris Whitney Bridge which connects Belleville and Prince Edward County on Highway 62 has a planned closure coming up.
The rehabilitation is intended as a holding strategy until a long-term plan for the bridge is determined. As part of this, the expansion joints are being replaced and will require two 12-hour (approximate) full closures of the bridge.
The first temporary full closure is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018 from 7p.m. and ending at 7a.m. The planned alternate (rain) date is Wednesday, Oct. 31 starting at 7p.m. and ending at 7a.m.
Traffic will be required to use a detour route during these times.
