Organizers of the 15th annual Busy Hands event on the weekend report about 2,000 shoppers and browsers visited the 15th annual event held at the Wellington Essroc Arena.
Busy Hands, the largest 100 per cent made-in-the-County annual Christmas gift and craft sale, was created in 2000 by Vicki Emlaw, of Vicki’s Veggies and Bay Woodyard, of Honey Pie Hives and Herbals. Their first holiday sale was held in Vicki’s kitchen to help pay their rent and to make it more of an event, they invited a handful of talented local family members and crafty friends to sell their homemade wares.
The weekend’s event featured 70 vendors selling everything from prepared food to healing stone jewelry, beewax candles, heirloom seeds, beautiful ceramics, ornate iron work, tasty preserves, handmade prints, hand woven textiles, organic fresh produce, expressive artwork, crafty ornaments, yummy maple syrup, designer clothing, handmade quilts, unique knitting, natural body care, and scrumptious hot sauce…all with an accent on the natural bounty of Prince Edward County.
