CHEERS! to County residents receiving volunteer service awards

Many Quinte area residents were honoured last night in Belleville with Volunteer Service Awards.
The awards recognize individuals for continuous years of commitment and dedicated service to an organization. More than 9,000 Ontarians receive the awards annually.
Recipients receive a stylized trillium service pin and a certificate.
County residents honoured include:
John Allison, of Hillier, for 20 years with the Prince Edward County Minor Baseball Association
Bill Bode, of Wellington, for five years with the Seventh Town Historical Society
Rose Claus and Barbara Cole, both of Picton, for 10 years; and June Williams, of Picton, for 15 years with the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 78
Frank Creamer, of Wellington, for 15 years with the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
Gail Forcht, Patricia Fullerton and Lori Robinson, all of Picton, for five years; Ruth Wilson-Deegan, of Picton, for 10 years, and Nancy Macdonald, of Picton, for 15 years with the Rose House Museum.
Rejean Lapierre, of Wellington, for five years with the National Air Force Museum of Canada.
Jamie McGinness, of Picton, for five years with Scouts Canada – Algonquinte Area.
Elaine Phillip, of Picton, for five years with the Highland Shores Children’s Aid.
