Civilians assist victim of near-drowning

Ontario Provincial Police report civilians assisted and performed CPR on a man who had been pulled from the water Sunday, July 21 at Sandbanks dunes beach.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. the OPP and members of Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue and Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Service arrived and continued emergency treatment.
The 30 year old was transported to hospital in critical condition. He remains in hospital.
“Prince Edward OPP would like to thank all those who assisted in this rescue,” said Bill Dickson, media relations co-ordinator with East Region OPP.
