Prince Edward County’s Robbie FitzRoy was honoured at the 10th Annual ACTRA Awards held in Toronto last week.
The eight-year-old Grade 3 student at St. Gregory’s School in Picton was nominated for an award in the category of ‘Outstanding Performance – Voice’ for his role as “Owen” in Disney Jr.’s Stella and Sam episode “Box Builders”.
“I like voice acting because you can be somebody totally different than you really are,” FitzRoy said. “The ACTRA Awards was an awesome experience. I got to see my co-stars again.”
FitzRoy also posed for a photograph with Rick Mercer who won ACTRA Toronto’s 2012 Award of Excellence.
FitzRoy began acting through the Mode Elle modeling and talent agency in Belleville at age five. He began voicing Stella and Sam at age six. He has also appeared in the Hallmark Christmas movie The Santa Suit, with Kevin Sorbo, and has voiced a Mercedes Benz commercial.
Robbie is the son of Joanne Courneya-FitzRoy, of Picton.
ACTRA Toronto is a union of more than 15,000 film, video and new media performers.
