County students receive Loyalist College undergraduate awards

Loyalist College students from Prince Edward County were among more than 240 award recipients at the recent Annual Undergraduate Awards Ceremony.
The awards ceremony recognized the students’ achievements and talents as well as the generosity of private donors, service clubs, community partners and the College Foundation in presenting awards totaling $160,575.

“In addition to the financial support, these awards provide our students with encouragement, community recognition, and motivation,” said Maureen Piercy, Loyalist College president. “There is a genuine human connection with donors, whose message is: ‘This is important to your life. Congratulations. Keep up the good work, and continue to reach for your goals.’”

“I want to thank the many donors who make this program possible, and to recognize the work of the College Foundation Board, whose members play an important role in supporting Loyalist and our students,” added Stuart Wright, Chair of the Loyalist College Board of Governors. “It is wonderful to see the growth in this awards program. Many of the awards are provided through the College Foundation endowment – an investment which provides important support for Loyalist College students today, and will continue to provide such support through the future.”
