The County’s winter parking rules are in effect as of Dec. 1:
Winter parking in Picton
Parking in Picton is free of charge from Dec. 1 to March 31, 2024. This includes Picton Main Street and the Market Lane parking spaces.
However, drivers are encouraged to “Feed the Meter” during December to help support the Food for Learning program. All cash collected in parking meters on Picton Main Street during December will help buy breakfast, lunch and snacks for students in local schools.
Overnight parking restrictions
As of Dec. 1, no parking is permitted on any streets or highways in the County of Prince Edward between the hours of 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. The overnight parking restrictions remain in effect until March 31, 2024. The County puts this restriction in place so that crews can clear the snow as efficiently as possible.
The winter parking restriction includes all municipal parking lots, except in these areas posted with winter parking sections:
Mary Street parking lot (Picton): Spaces in the first row to the left of the entrance are designated for overnight parking.
55 King Street parking lot (Picton): Parking is permitted along the right side of the lot on odd-numbered days and along the left side of the lot on even-numbered days.
