COVID-19 vaccine QR codes ready for download

People who are fully vaccinated can begin to download the province’s new enhanced vaccine certificate in QR code form this weekend – if you can get through on the busy website.
Businesses and organizations can also download the Verify Ontario app to scan and confirm that visitors are fully vaccinated.
People can still continue to use their existing vaccine receipts. Smart phone users, and those who wish to print a paper copy, may find the QR code version easier to enter businesses or organizations using the Verify Ontario app. (Users to not have to download the app.)
People will need to continue to show a piece of identification with your name and date of birth along with your proof of vaccination when visiting select businesses and organizations.
The province is initially making the enhanced certificates available for download in cohorts. Enhanced vaccine certificates will be made available for download over three days, based on the month you were born:
Oct. 15, 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.: All individuals born between January and April
Oct. 16 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.: All individuals born between May and August
Oct. 17, 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.: All individuals born between September to December
Starting Oct. 18 at 6 a.m., the portal will open for any individual to download your enhanced vaccine certificate, regardless of your birth month. You can also call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900 to have your enhanced vaccine certificate emailed or mailed to you.
Verify Ontario will only scan and read official, government issued QR codes, such as Ontario’s vaccine certificate and those SMART Health Codes from other provinces including Quebec, British Columbia and Yukon Territory.
