Crowds gather for County’s Canada 150 celebrations

Canada’s 150th birthday was celebrated in a wash of red and white throughout Prince Edward County.
The largest crowd Wellington has seen in many years lined both sides of the Main Street as far as the eye could see for a Canada Day parade. Though the rain held off, organizers moved the children’s activities, food and usual park participants to the arena – just in case.
In Picton, Main Street was packed with activities for families – including the temporary sodded play area from Come Alive Outside and giant bouncy castles in Benson Park.
Picton Splash Pad announced it expects to get under way with a ground breaking at the Picton Fairgrounds site this week – weather permitting!
