Delaying new signs bad for Bloomfield
Administrator | Jul 21, 2011 | Comments 1
Dear Mr. Mertens,
This is a photo of one of the new Bloomfield signs, designed by Alex Fida of Angeline’s and paid for by the generous donations of the members of Bloomfield and Area Business Association.
What concerns me is that the County of Prince Edward was to put new posts in the existing sites of the old signs so that these beautiful signs can replace the old ones.
The sign on #62 has been missing for a long time and therefore no signage announces Bloomfield. As today is the 20th of July and the time when all signage is extremely important, delay by the County only frustrates each of us. As one of the merchants on Main Street Bloomfield, I find it disturbing that the signs are sitting in the basement of Bloomfield Town hall and that they have been there for over six weeks!
I hope that you will look into this delay as our community has come together to promote our beautiful village. Thanking you in advance.
Sue Keller
UPDATE: I received a phone call at 8:30 this morning from Robert McAuley, commissioner of works. The signs will be installed very soon. The one on #62 is regulated by MTO and the County is waiting for a date for that one.
