The idea for Paint the County came from folk artist Terry Williams who had seen artists working out on the street during a trip to the east coast and he suggested the idea to local artist Aidan Haley.
“The artists that are participating are pretty well-known in the area,” said Haley. “They will be right on the street.”
The artists are to complete their works by 4 p.m. and the creations will then be taken to Black Prince Winery where they will put up for a silent auction. The auction will finish Sunday afternoon at 4 pm. There will be a minimum bid of $50. All the proceeds of the auction will go to PEC Alternatives For Women. Paint the County is an Arts on Main Gallery initiative sponsored by Black Prince Winery and Prince Edward County Arts Council.
To finish off the busy day, Countystock will take to the stage in Delhi Park starting at 5pm. Countystock will be a showcase presentation of local musical talent headlined by Instant Rivalry. Nine musical acts will take the stage through the evening. There will be musical styles to suit everyone’s tastes.
“We are pretty excited to headline this show,” said Caleb and Megan Hutton. “We hope that people will come and see all the talent.”

Instant Rivalry will headline Countystock Saturday night at Delhi.

This is the first year for Countystock. It began at Bergeron’s Family Fun-fest last year to help raise funds  to support the now closed exotic animal sanctuary.

First Canadian Idol Ryan Malcolm will be on stage at Performances in the Park, Sunday from 2-4 in Benson Park.
