David Arcand created each unique piece with his lathe and carving knife from the dead branches of trees destroyed by the ice storm two winters ago.
The magical sparkle of Christmas has unfolded at Isaiah Tubbs Resort.
Almost 200 beautifully decorated trees and related seasonal decorations are on display for the three-day giant silent auction to raise funds toward the purchase of a defibrillator and heart monitor for the Heart Start program at Picton’s hospital.
The festival, hosted by the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, includes a silent auction of trees decorated and donated by County businesses, organizations, groups and citizens. Volunteer entertainers are providing music all weekend and there are also bucket draws and a Christmas boutique created by the Second Time Around Shop volunteers.
Jeanette Arsenault will host a children’s program beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, following by a visit from Santa from 11:30 to 4 p.m. in the Macdonald Hall. Santa returns Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The show continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
