Fire on Chase Road destroys shed, minor damage to home

Prince Edward County Fire & Rescue responded to a structure fire around 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30) on Chase Road.
Approximately 30 firefighters from Station 2 (Bloomfield), Station 6 (Consecon) and Station 7 (Wellington), along with full-time staff from Picton, arrived to find a storage shed on fire, next to a house.
The shed’s fire loss is estimated at $75,000 and firefighters limited the house’s damage to minor water damage.
The cause of the fire is accidental and the investigation is ongoing.
