Foot of snow on roads is ridiculous

Letter to the editor:
I have to say I am most displeased with the way the County handles snow removal late at night . It was late at night and I had been driving from Rochester, NY to Picton, for six hours. The interstate was clear, the 401 was great; but entering Picton was another story. The roads were treacherous, absurdly risky, and inhospitable. Main Street hadn’t even been plowed, and County Roads 10 and 18 through Cherry Valley had over 1′ of snow on them. In fact, this is not the first time I have been in this situation, and I believe it is the government’s responsibility to keep the roads safe, viable means of transportation in all weather, as much as possible. I know Council is really struggling with adjusting their budget for costs and such, but allowing 1′ of snow to accumulate on the roads is absolutely ridiculous.
