  1. Let’s see…where to begin? Firstly, the Glenora Ferry operates entirely under Provincial jurisdiction. PEC council has nothing to do with its operation or management. The two ferries are both old and require constant maintenance. The dock equipment is subjected to repetitive wear and tear and punishing winter/ice conditions. Perhaps most importantly, this is a free service so there is no revenue accumulated to provide for new, modern equipment. This is a classic case of “getting what you pay for”. If you want better service, insist that there be a charge for the ferry. Then, in a few years time, there might be enough made to buy some newer equipment resulting in less down time.

  2. Andy says:

I would suggest that everyone ask their member of Council IF this is being raised with the MTO [they may have already done this), and IF they haven’t, then ask them to do so.

  3. IGN says:

This is occurring so frequently now as to be ridiculous. The service has steadily degraded over the past few years yet I don’t hear anyone on council raising it as an issue with the MTO …why?
