Gold, silver and bronze medal swims for County Dolphins

Coach Jim Anfield accompanied 11 members of the Quinte Dolphins Swim Team to compete at the second invitational hosted by the Belleville Youth Swim Team this season.
Faith Elsbury, Abby Taylor, Kim Pothier and Annie Labarge all competed in the 13 and over sessions with Elsbury leading the way in points for the senior team.
Elsbury, 14, collected 9 team points earning two gold medals, a bronze medal and a fourth place finish. Taylor, 15, earned 5 points for the team winning one gold and two silver medals. Pothier, 15, and Labarge, 13, swam to personal best times in each of their events.
Yelena Hudgin, Carolina Lossing, Matthew Pettraca, James Lossing, Leo Lossing, Mckinley Miller and Annika Hudgin competed in the 12 and under sessions.
Yelena Hudgin, 8, earned 29 points for her team collecting two gold and one silver medal as well as two 7th place finishes. Carolina Lossing, 6, and Pettraca, 12, both earned 18 team points with young Lossing winning two bronze medals and two 6th place finishes while Pettraca won a bronze medal and placed 5th, 5th, 6th and 8th in his events. James Lossing, 10, won a bronze medal and ribbons for 5th, 6th and 6th. Leo Lossing, 11, won a 4th, 5th and 6th place ribbon while Mckinley Miller, 8, won a bronze medal and collected a 4th place ribbon.
Annika Hudgin, 11, made the final time she required to advance to Eastern regional short course championships being hosted by the Belleville swim team Jan 30 – Feb.1st. Hudgin is one of three Dolphin team members who have qualified for the regional competition alongside teammates Morgan Clark and Abby Taylor.
