The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Craft Group continued its tradition of contributing handmade items to the OPP ‘Keep Kids Warm’ winter clothing program. This year, the volunteer group presented 369 hats and mitts to the local OPP detachment to help keep County kids warm.
Each year, the program (formerly adopt-a-child) is run by the PEC OPP, Belleville Police, Central Hastings OPP and Stirling Rawdon Police Services in conjunction with the local CAS Angel Campaign, the Storehouse Food Bank in Wellington and the Salvation Army to assist low income working families and those on assistance with new winter outerwear for children.
