Hull appointed Green Party Ontario finance critic

Green Party of Ontario leader Mike Schreiner in Picton to launch The Green Party's five-point plan and to open local candidate Treat Hull's campaign office, above Miss Lily's Cafe, downtown Picton.

As part of a larger change to his shadow cabinet, Ontario Green Party leader Mike Schreiner moved Prince Edward-Hastings candidate Treat Hull into a new role as Finance Critic, from his previous role as Energy Critic.

Schreiner noted Hull’s business experience as an entrepreneur, consultant and global executive.

“The Green Party will be the only party to campaign on a clear platform of fiscal responsibility in the upcoming election,” Schreiner said. “Treat has the business experience and credibility to forcefully make our case.”

Schreiner also noted the specific importance of the appointment to Prince Edward-Hastings.
“The role of Finance Critic is a key role for all political parties. Treat’s appointment to this influential position reflects the priority that the Green Party is placing on Prince Edward-Hastings in the election campaign.”

Hull, 61, recently retired after a career of more than three decades in consulting and executive management. He is currently President of the Prince Edward-Hastings Green Party of Ontario constituency association.

Chosen last fall as the party’s candidate opposing incumbent MPP Leona Dombrowsky, Schreiner said Hull established himself as a forceful critic of the government’s financially and environmentally unsound energy plans.
