The U11 Tim Dainard Electric Kings earned a split in the Gananoque pre season tilt in Brockville this weekend. The Kings notched wins over the Millbrook Stars and the Lewis County Cobras while taking losses against the host Islanders and the Frontenac Flyers.
In the opener on Friday, the Kings dominated the opposition territorially but couldn’t manage to beat the Isles netminder. Mason Mitchell’s first of the tournament was the lone bright spot for the Kings. Evie MacDonald handled the goaltending duties.
In Game 2, Emmet Engelsdorfer found Mitchell with 4:51 left to lift Prince Edward County over Millbrook. Emmet Cameron counted twice for the locals while Engelsdorfer opened the scoring in the first with a nifty shorthanded effort. Mason Vanharrlem picked up the decision in the Kings’ cage.
On Saturday, the Kings lost a 5-4 heartbreaker to the Flyers in a game that eliminated them from playoff contention. Mitchell fired a hat trick to push the Kings back into the contest and Cameron’s third of the tourney late in the middle stanza put the Kings in front at 4-3. Frontenac responded just 11 later, setting the stage for high drama in the third. The Flyers and Kings went nip-and-tuck for nearly the entire period until David Thompson slid a puck past McDonald with just 64 seconds left to salt the game away for Frontenac.
In the finale, the Kings made short work of the Cobras who were visiting from Watertown, NY. Mitchell paced the offence with two goals and an assist while Ollie Dainarad also tickled the twine twice. Zac Rice and Engelsdorfer also lit the lamp and added helpers. Maxx Benson also had a single. Vanharrlem had the win.
The U11 Terra Vista Kings are back in action this weekend as they kick off the Eastern Ontario Minor Hockey League regular season with three games in three days. After travelling to Stirling Friday and Napanee Saturday, the Kings host Frontenac on Sunday at Heidelberg Arena. Puck drop is 12 p.m.

The U13 Terra Vista Kings went about as far as they could go this weekend in the GTA, coming home with a silver medal in tow from the Aurora Early Bird Tournament. The Kings were upended in the finals 5-0 against Lindsay but not before an incredible 1-0 nail-biter semi finals win over the Haldimand River Kings.
Aiden Herbert was spotless in the semifinals, stopping everything River Hawks shooters sent his way. The Kings got the only goal they needed in second and Everen van der bij bulged the twine at the 8:27 mark. The local went 2-1-1 over the preliminary round, picking up wins over host Aurora and Clarington and tying 2-2 with Caledon.
The Kings face a tough test on the road in Frontenac on Saturday afternoon in their season opener.
The U13 Tim Dainard Kings are at home in Wellington on Saturday, Oct. 10 for a 2 p.m. puck drop against Campbellford.
The U15 Heidelberg Kings got stronger as the weekend wore on at the 2026 Thousand Islands Preseason Tilt tournament in Brockville. After dropping the first two games of the tune up tourney, the Kings offence sprang to life in Game 3 as they whitewashed the Smith Falls Bears 3-0. Goaltender Parker Nyman was sensational in this one, leaving the Bears shooters talking to themselves all game.
The Kings would get all the offence they needed at the 8:52 mark of the first as Harrison Kerik’s first of two stood up as the game winner. Trystan Macalister and Zachary Lucas added helpers on the goal. With time winding down in the opening frame, the locals doubled their lead with Tristan Grant adding his second of the weekend.
In the semi finals, it was Marco Scime’s opportunity to man the mesh mansion and he was nearly as brilliant with just a single tally to the host’s credit being surrendered. But that was all Isles goalie Owen Ferguson needed as Gananoque slipped past Prince Edward County and into the finals.
The U15 Heidelberg Kings welcome Frontenac to Wellington Sunday at 3 pm for the club’s home opener.
