Lawn signs celebrate the Class of 2020!

Lawns will get a pop of congratulatory colour as signs celebrating Grade 12 graduates—the Class of 2020 – are distributed by the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board.
As the COVID-19 pandemic has interrupted normal year-end school celebrations, almost 1,200 signs are being distributed this week to all Grade 12 graduates of the board’s seven public secondary schools, including Prince Edward Collegiate Institute.
“This year will be remembered by many of us as the year of the pandemic,” said Sean Monteith, Director of Education. “More importantly, I believe we need to celebrate our students, their perseverance and accomplishments in spite of it—and the lawn signs are a unique way to do that. We hope students and their families place them in prominent locations for themselves, their families and their communities to celebrate with them.”
