County Council on the move

Picton ON – Council and Committee meetings will be travelling throughout Prince Edward County this May, June and July during the installation of a replacement elevator in Shire Hall. Historical town halls and municipal facilities for the meetings were chosen over a single location to encourage more public attendance and interest in local government.
“I am quite pleased to be able to bring our meetings into the community,” said Mayor Leo P. Finnegan. “The public is always welcome at our meetings, but this move will bring the meetings closer to home for some. Being an election year, both potential candidates and electors can take this opportunity to increase their understanding of the current issues and see Council in action.”
