March Break activities wind down at libraries with Idle No More talk

Following a full week of activities at all the branches of the County Public Library, children’s entertainer Tabby Johnson had everybody dancing and singing to special songs and stories she told to appreciative audiences Friday at the Wellington and Picton branches. The part-time County resident is known from childrens’ television shows such as The Polka Dot Door, The Big Comfy Couch and Noddy. The library’s March Break activities wrapped up Saturday in Sophiasburgh with entertainment by Sam Hirst at the Community Centre.
Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Picton library branch. A talk on Idle No More, the complex and growing protest movement in Canada. Understanding the historical, social and political underpinnings of the movement will be the focus of the lecture presentation by Jean-Paul Restoule, a member of the Dokis First Nation and associate professor of Aboriginal Education at the University of Toronto. Event free of charge.
